Art projects

I prefer to make art together with others. In my projects, neighbours, children and newcomers work together on one large piece.

Bridges of paper

Each participant makes one sheet of paper, with fibres from their own surroundings: a tea bag, a newspaper, a flower from the garden. Together the sheets form a bridge.

The work shows what connects us, even when we speak a different language.

Papermaking, a Dutch tradition

Paper was invented in China, but the Netherlands has a rich paper history too. The Zaan region once had dozens of paper mills. I make my paper with a mould like this one – a bridge between two traditions.
